Rural and Northern Immigration

On November 1, 2019, the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) will begin accepting inquiries from community-based Employers only who are interested in posting positions on the CEDC website to recruit under the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot.   Reach out to Piero Pucci at ppucci@thunderbay.ca.

Once approved employers will be able to post positions on the web site starting December 1, 2019.

In Year 1 of the pilot, the federal government has informed us that we can make up to 100 recommendations.

On January 2, 2020, we will begin accepting applications for a Thunder Bay CEDC community recommendation from individuals wishing to immigrate to Thunder Bay where they have a genuine full time job offer from an approved employer, meet the federal government’s eligibility criteria, and meet the community recommendation criteria set by the CEDC.

More information regarding the community recommendation criteria that needs to be met to receive a recommendation by the CEDC will be made available in December of 2019.

Visit the Employers page for more on occupations/categories and Employer Criteria.
