Employment Opportunities:

Looking for work in Thunder Bay?  Check out our various employment directories to find new opportunities and apply to employers directly. If an employer is interested in using the RNIP, please direct them to our office.

Become an approved Employer:

The Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) is currently accepting applications from employers located within the Thunder Bay Census Metropolitan Area who are interested in recruiting under the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP).

In order to qualify as an employer who can use the RNIP to fill a job vacancy or support the retention of a current employee you must meet the program’s employer requirements.

Additionally, the candidate who you select to fill the position must meet both the federal eligibility criteria as well as the Thunder Bay community recommendation criteria. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with all of these criteria.

If you would like to apply to become an approved employer,  please contact Emily Lauzon.

After you get a job offer:

On January 2, 2020, we will begin accepting applications for a Thunder Bay CEDC community recommendation from individuals wishing to immigrate to Thunder Bay where they have a genuine full time job offer from an approved employer, meet the federal government’s eligibility criteria, and meet the community recommendation criteria set by the CEDC.

All job seekers should contact Immigration Thunder Bay for information about the application process.

More information regarding the criteria that needs to be met to receive a recommendation by the CEDC will be made available throughout December of 2019.
