Interested job seekers must apply directly to employers following the instructions outlined in the job advertisement.  The Thunder Bay CEDC does not provide job matching services, do not send resumes or cover letters to the CEDC.  Employers will not be accepting inquiries from third parties (eg: immigration consultants) regarding job applications.

Securing employment in any of the posted jobs does not guarantee a community recommendation or permanent residence through the Thunder Bay Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot.  Once you have received a qualifying job offer with an eligible employer, you will be authorized to apply for a community recommendation.

Details of the position: Full-Time (40 Hours per week) – Starting $16/hour

The Machine operator position is a critical position in our Hydraulic Machine Shop. This position is an entry level position that focuses on the basics of machining, metal preparation and completed parts. Job duties include: setting up a job, inserting parts and taking parts out of the CNC machine. Checking parts for quality checks. Performing basic maintenance checks to the machine during a typical shift. The position reports directly to the department head (CNC Machining) which further reports to the Shop Manager.
