About Us

Thunder Bay's economy is undergoing a shift, becoming more diversified and sustainable. There are plenty of job and business opportunities but there are gaps in the workforce and an aging demographic causes concern.

The amenities in the city continue to improve and the city itself is evolving in many positive ways. Restaurants are springing up and there are many things to do. It is becoming a vibrant urban hub for all of Northwestern Ontario. With work opportunities, a low cost of living, no traffic congestion and immediate access to fun and wilderness, Thunder Bay offers a high quality authentic northern life style.

Among prospective new residents and prospective business investors there is a lack of awareness about the City and the opportunities that exist here. In response, the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC) has led the "Go To Thunder Bay" campaign with applause and support from many organizations in the community including:

  • CEDC Board of Directors

  • City of Thunder Bay

  • Confederation College

  • Lakehead University

  • North Superior Workforce Development Board

  • Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre

  • Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce

  • Thunder Bay International Airport

  • Thunder Bay Port Authority
