Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) Pilot

The Thunder Bay CEDC was pleased to have participated in the Regional Economic Development through Immigration (REDI) pilot in 2025. Please note that the pilot ended on December 31, 2025 and is currently closed for applications.

The 2025 RCIP program is now closed to all applications as we have issued all our allocated recommendations.

As a year end wrap up, the Thunder Bay CEDC wanted to share the results of the 2025 Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) program.

  • We received 400 applications from employers and 358 were granted Designated Employer status
  • 175 Designated Employers had candidates receive a Recommendation Certificate
  • Almost 900 candidate applications were received and reviewed
  • 475 Recommendation Certificates were issued, our total allocation for 2025
  • 475 principal applicants and 356 dependents were supported, representing a total of 831 individuals
  • Of those who received a recommendation, the highest score was 109 and the average score was 88.5
